Frequently asked questions
No, not necessarily. It depends on your family’s lifestyle and overall reasons for wanting a kitten. This is something that is discussed through the application process.
Unfortunately, they are not hypoallergenic as often thought. As they are short haired and minimally shed, they may help with allergy sufferers to a certain extent. But there are no guarantees.
No we are sorry but we will not do any shipping. The health and safety of our kittens is our first priority. Either you would have to pick up your kitten, make arrangements for someone to pick up your kitten, or make arrangements with Truall for delivery if needed. The cost of transporting would be worked out on a case by case basis.
We are a small home based cattery located in Cambridge Ontario.
Yes we do allow visits to our cattery to choose a kitten, once kittens reach an appropriate age and are vaccinated. If a prospective pet parent is unable to visit, a facetime call can be arranged by request. We want to make the adoption process as easy as possible for all.
Yes there is a waiting list. Once the screening process has been completed, you can decide to be added to the wait list. It is hard to predict how long the wait will be. It depends on a number of factors - the kittens born, the sex and colour, if a preference is indicated, and your placement on the list. We welcome any questions on timing and will provide timely updates to all prospective pet parents.
Yes once you have chosen your kitten, a $500 non-refundable deposit is required. The remainder of the kitten price is paid on the day of pick up. We take e-transfers, cash and wire transfers.
In order to have proper socialization, time with mother cat, vet checks, vaccines, spay or neuter, etc., Truall kittens remain with the cattery for approximately 14 weeks. We know you are anxious to have your little one at home, but it is the best for the kitten’s overall health and wellness to stay with us that long.
Yes all Truall Cattery cats are registered with both TICA (The International Cat Association) and CCA (Canadian Cat Association). Kittens going to pet homes are registered with the Canadian Cat Association. Upon request, they can also be registered with The International Cat Association, usually if a pet parent wants to show their kitten at a cat show.
Yes we do attend cat shows, along with others who have adopted Truall cats. Truall strives to breed to the standard and has much success at the shows. However, not every cat/kitten is show quality and some may not enjoy the show experience.
